Embracing the lessons of endeavour

As September draws to a close, we reflect on this month’s Juniper snippet of inspiration: ‘Endeavour leads to learning.’ This phrase feels especially meaningful following our celebration of being named Change Consultancy of the Year at the Innovation & Excellence Awards 2025. Over more than two decades of supporting clients to deliver meaningful, people-centred change, we’ve undertaken countless endeavours – each stretching us, teaching us, and shaping the consultancy we are today. But how do we draw upon these experiences to continue growing? Looking back at the awards submission process offers some answers.

The power of reflection

Preparing our award entry invited us to pause and take stock; a valuable step for any organisation. We were asked to complete a questionnaire covering our ways of working, our approach to adapting to technological change, and our long-term strategy. More than simply answering questions, this process encouraged a moment of reflection. We revisited client stories we’re proud of, reflected on challenges we’ve helped organisations overcome, and articulated what sets our approach apart. In doing so, the submission became more than a formality; it was a meaningful act of reflection.

Recognising endeavour

Through this type of reflection, we can recognise that endeavour comes in many forms, each valuable in its own way, providing its own lessons and opportunities for growth, no matter how big or small.

Endeavour can be the courage and curiosity to explore a new idea, the quiet resolve to tackle a challenging task, or the willingness to pause and listen deeply when pressure is high. By consistently taking this authentic approach to our work, each of these actions has shaped us, individually and collectively, into the consultancy we are today.

Lessons on change

We were also reminded of a truth we often share with clients: meaningful change isn’t achieved through strategy alone. True change is about people – building relationships rooted in trust, empathy, and openness, and cultivating resilience to address each new question and challenge. People are at the heart of everything we do, and our work across multiple sectors has strengthened our adaptability, enabling us to bring cross-market insights and tailor solutions to each client’s needs.

As Managing Director, Nicki explains: “Each client brings a unique context, and we adapt with curiosity and respect. What remains constant is our commitment to making a meaningful, measurable difference.”

The road ahead

While we are proud of this award as a milestone in Juniper’s timeline, what truly matters is the lessons we have learned along the way. Every late night, bold idea, and moment of questioning followed by discovery has sharpened our instincts, deepened our understanding, and prepared us for future challenges. What we carry with us into the future is the reminder that whilst this award celebrates the outcome of our work, the endeavour itself is the teacher that enables and encourages us to grow.

Embracing the journey

Winning an award is, of course, cause for celebration. Yet the real reward lies not in the trophy but in the journey that brought us here. As we move into the last quarter of the year and begin planning for 2026, we commit to carrying forward the spirit of endeavour – to keep stretching beyond the familiar, learning from every step, and progressing as a team.
