Creating themes for 2024

A very Happy New Year to all our friends and colleagues. As 2024 gets underway, we are taking the opportunity to share a little bit of insight into our plans for the year ahead. For many years we produced the much-loved Juniper desk calendar, enabling us to connect regularly with our friends and colleagues. Each month featured a thought-provoking quote and provided a platform to share a little motivation and inspiration.

Having decided to move away from a printed calendar for 2024, we took the opportunity to revisit what we are all about. We sat around the table to create something that represents us and is aligned with the Juniper brand.

One of the first things we came up with was a desire to share our connection with nature and sustainability. We were all in agreement that a focus on trees would be a great way to demonstrate this passion and help strengthen our ties to the environment. We started by celebrating 12 special trees chosen by our friends and colleagues over the Christmas period and we look forward to carrying on the theme throughout this year, including getting hands-on with some tree planting!

However, we wanted to go further and impart a little bit more of what The Juniper Co. is all about. Inspired by the shape and structure of trees and their branches, we produced an organigram for the year. Our 2024 campaign was born!

For each quarter, we identified a key theme that we can relate to and champion. When we considered our core values – we are thinkers and planners who are always ready to deliver and constantly seeking to find that ‘even better if’ – one idea jumped out at us. The preposition PRE means before and has all the connotations we were looking for. We set out to find four ‘PRE’ words that have meaning for us and how we like to work, and that will enable us to bring the best to our communications for each quarter. And here they are:

PREpare – the value of being ready. Taking the necessary steps to enable us to perform at our best.

PREsent – focusing on what can be achieved in the here and now. The importance of being present.

PREview – looking ahead to what can be achieved in the future. Creating and implementing a plan for success.

PREflight – thinking about the journey. Making the preparations required to maximise progress.

Once we had our quarterly theme, we thought about creating a nugget of inspiration for each month as a nod to the heritage of our Juniper calendar. These will now be shared in our email signatures and within our social content and newsletters. In a world where we can find ourselves consumed by content and data, the ability to sift through the mass of information in front of us and draw out the essence is invaluable. Being able to succinctly present knowledge and make recommendations inspires confidence in those we are working with.
